WHY, “THE HEART OF FRANCE IN 80 DAYS?”

1- This personal project is primarily a way to reconcile with France.

By the end of my studies I left, no way I would work in France. I fled the French’ stereotype: lazy, grumpy, striker, and arrogant, I wanted to be something else and surround myself with more positive people who would dare to take risks to create other things, while retaining their responsibilities in front of good or bad consequences.

This phase of desertion is over, I’m back home more in peace and wish to share it my heart.

Through my travels and the distance I took, I could realise that the key was to be maintain open, curious, and be available to meet extraordinary people anywhere in the world, so why not in France?

With the HEART OF FRANCE IN 80 DAYS I wish to bring into the light those beings who despite the economic, social, political, and environmental difficulties take themselves in hand, in their own way to dare to try things with the means at hand.

2- It is a pause that I propose, with others and oneself.

Our next door neighbour, the youth of the neighbourhoods, the grandmother of the corner, the vagrant passing, the homeless sitting, all those beings that we don’t take time to see, to listen and understand because we are too busy, distracted and blinded by our fears, we let the beauty of the moment escape and its hidden surprises fly away.

It is a pause that I propose with others but above all with ourselves.

The other, the stranger, the foreigner, this being which we already learn from childhood to distrust, those candies that we must refused from him; so we judge, criticise, to hope living a better life without the flavours that he attempted to offer us. And if the other was just ourselves, that inner being that we often feels tight. Instead, why not go and meet him to see that he actually isn’t so bad on the contrary?

The Wander Woman

I ditched everything to draw on the map of France a heart in 80 days driving my camper van,
photographing and sharing the stories of the people I meet.
Qui m’aime me suive!
